INSTALLING & CARING FOR YOUR LAMPS & SHADES
Installation
All lamps, sconces, pendants and light fixtures should be installed by a qualified electrician. If any part of your order is damaged upon arrival, please let us know immediately. Do not attempt to install any part of your order if it is damaged.

When installing wall mounted fixtures, it is important to ensure that the lights do not come in contact with flammable materials (curtains, pillows, etc) and are installed a minimum of 60cm from all water sources.
Care should be taken so that lights are not in close proximity to materials and objects that can be damaged by heat. Be certain to use the supplied fasteners or fasteners of a similar material as the fixture housing.
Before beginning work on any electrical circuit, please ensure that electrical power to that circuit is turned off. If the circuit is to be dimmed, please refer to the installation and owners’ manual provided with the dimming product.
Legato fixtures are typically provided with colour coded wires. When installing and wiring new lighting fixtures, it is imperative that the correct gauge wire be selected according to UK standards.
Lighting​
Legato lighting is hand-crafted to a high standard with carefully selected materials. With the correct care and maintenance our lighting will provide years of satisfaction; please familiarise yourself with the following information.

Sunlight and Environment

If lamps are exposed to direct sunlight for long periods of time, it may cause the colour of the lampshade or lamp/light to change.

At least a 30cm clearance from heat sources is advised to prevent colour change or permanent marks occurring.

We do not recommend placing products in excessively high or low temperatures or damp environments as this may cause product issues.

Maintenance and Care Instructions​
To help prolong the life of your lighting we advise the following:

Cleaning

Electricity can be fatal, so be sure to turn off your light at the plug (table lamps) or switch (pendants and sconces) and wait until it has cooled down completely. Then wipe with a soft, lint free cloth.

Following the guidelines above will ensure product performance is maintained. Legato is not responsible for defects caused by the misuse of the product.
